Patrick Brodie is a media scholar and Assistant Professor/Ad Astra Fellow in the School of Information and Communication Studies at University College Dublin. His research focuses on the environmental politics of digital media infrastructures, with a particular interest in geographies of extractivism and the political ecologies of environmental datafication. He is the co-editor of the Journal of Environmental Media, and is currently completing three book projects: Wild Tides: Media Infrastructure and Financial Crisis in Ireland(under contract with Duke University Press); Media Rurality (co-edited with Darin Barney, also under contract with Duke); and From the Bog to the Cloud: Contesting Eco-Modernity in Ireland (with Patrick Bresnihan, under contract with Bristol University Press).
